How direct deals work with Pro

  1. A guest finds your home on CielStay and sends an inquiry with their dates and details.
  2. You agree on terms and share your rental agreement or lease.
  3. The guest pays you directly, using the payment method you choose.
  4. You block the dates on CielStay, and they sync to your other calendars.

CielStay is where guests find you and reach you. We never process payments or take a commission, and Pro is only available to verified owners, so guests know they’re talking to the real host.

Questions

Who counts as one of the first 100 hosts?

Anyone who creates a CielStay account and then creates or claims at least one listing. Claiming means taking over a listing we already show; creating means adding a home yourself. Spots go in the order hosts qualify, and you don’t have to verify ownership first — that’s deliberate while we’re in alpha. CielStay staff accounts don’t count.

When does my free year start?

The day you qualify — when you have an account and your first listing. Your free year runs 12 months from then, across every listing you hold.

Will I be charged automatically afterwards?

No. There’s no credit card to enter, and we will never charge you without asking first. When your free year ends you can choose Pro or keep the free listing.

I have several properties. Does the offer cover all of them?

Yes — every listing you hold, including ones you add later during your free year. Pro is normally priced per property at $100/year each, so a founding host with four homes is getting $400 of it. The hundred spots are counted by host, not by property.

Do guests need Pro, or pay to message a host?

No. Guests never pay anything on CielStay. Any guest with a free account can message the host of any listing. Hosts read and reply where they have Pro — every listing for a founding host, or per property once billing opens.

What happens to inquiries sent before I claim my listing?

We save them. Guests can send inquiries about any home on CielStay, and the listing shows how many guests have asked in the last 90 days. Once you claim the listing they appear in your CielStay Messages, and a founding host can read and reply straight away.

Does CielStay take bookings or payments?

No. Guests pay you directly, using whatever payment method you choose. CielStay never touches the money and takes no commission. We recommend business payment methods (for example PayPal invoices, a Venmo business profile, or Stripe payment links) rather than personal transfers.

What am I responsible for?

Everything a direct booking involves: your rental agreement, collecting payment, and local rules. That includes occupancy tax on shorter stays where it applies, any permits your city requires, and fair housing rules for long-term rentals.
