Casa Yakunah is a low-impact house which draws almost all of its energy from its environment. Since there is no “grid” in the reserve, solar, wind, and rain create the energy needed to provide guests modern conveniences while still being immersed in nature. It is also forbidden to fish in order to protect the endangered sea life. Pets are not allowed. Roads in Sian Ka’an are unpaved and therefore distances and times may vary depending on the season and road quality/conditions. • Strictly quiet hours in the community after 10pm (no loud music allowed) • Penalties for noncompliance may apply Please be aware that, due to warming weather and fluctuating ocean currents, the Riviera Maya may experience the presence of naturally occurring seaweed during the hotter months of the year.
