Adventure into the very heartbeat of Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. You'll be staying in the lower level of our historic row home in the beautiful and historic Eastern Market neighborhood and steps from Barracks Row, Trader Joe's, Eastern Market Metro station, and of course the vibrant Eastern Marketplace itself! This is the perfect spot for business travelers or a retreat for families after a long day of adventure and exploring. Complete with a spacious bedroom, outdoor courtyard, comfy couch, desk and office chair, dining table, kitchen, and essential amenities. This is the perfect space for couples, and family / friends alike. Bright and light-filled with a bay window for the desk and a laptop friendly workspace - a great spot for business travelers! The front room features a fireplace and large screen TV with exposed brick accenting the dining area. Enjoy quiet sun in the fenced landscaped cozy courtyard in back - shared with the upstairs apartment. There is high-speed wifi, with a SmartTV in both the living room and bedroom. The unit has its own washer-dryer unit as well. We can sleep 4 guests with the following configuration: - Queen sized bed in bedroom - -Sofa sleeper pull-out bed in the living room Aside from being host to the United States Congress, Capitol Hill is the largest historic neighborhood in Washington DC. Stretching from the East Front of the United States Capitol, it is one of the oldest residential communities in the nation. Capitol Hill is the center of Washington, DC and the Eastern Market neighborhood is the heart of Capitol Hill. From our historic townhouse, the sidewalk cafes, restaurants, Miracle Theater, and lively nightlife of Barracks Row are a five minute walk. One block away, the Hill Center at the Old Naval Hospital showcases art galleries, performing artists and intimate events with national newsmakers. Two blocks further, an enclosed playground includes sculptures and a large splash pad - perfect for kiddos! The star of the neighborhood is the Eastern Market itself, which is about an 8 minute walk from the home. The 19th-century brick building is open daily with a wide range of stalls selling fresh food, local produce, art and crafts, fresh flowers, baked goods, candles, to artisan cheeses and unique DC souvenirs. It is a perfect place to find a little something to remember your trip. The weekend market on Saturday & Sunday is not to be missed with artists and street vendors outside selling crafts, memorabilia, artwork, pottery and unique gifts! Capitol Hill Books, located right in the middle of the market, is our personal favorite pre-owned bookstore. It's cramped with towers of books from floor to ceiling - magical!
