Ridgestone is delighted to present you The Room @Rawsons, a beautifully decorated, luxury studio set in the gable end of a 17th-century farmhouse at the foot of Whitbarrow Scar. Surrounded by woodland and farmland within the Lake District National Park and the Whitbarrow National Nature Reserve, it offers a peaceful base for walking, cycling, or simply relaxing in nature, with trails accessible straight from the doorstep. Inside the approximately 400 sq ft space, you’ll find a luxurious king-size bed with a textured headboard and a Siberian goose-down duvet and pillows. The cosy seating area includes a two-seater sofa, an armchair, books, games, and thoughtful storage. Through elegant oak double doors, the spa-like bathroom features rich textures, ornate tiles, a deep ceramic bath with Victorian-style taps and handset, a walk-in shower with rain head and handset, and luxurious Sulkin toiletries, complete with fluffy towels and bathrobes. The galley-style entrance area includes a handcrafted wooden counter, Nespresso Krups coffee machine, KitchenAid kettle, toaster, fridge, and all the essentials for preparing a light breakfast or snack. While there are no cooking facilities, the surrounding area offers an excellent range of pubs, cafés, and Michelin-starred restaurants. Heating is provided throughout via Victorian cast-iron radiators. Nestled away, a private wooden balcony with outdoor furniture offers uninterrupted southwestern views across farmland and out towards Morecambe Bay. Rawsons is gently tucked beneath Whitbarrow Scar, surrounded by natural woodland and open farmland, and forms part of both the Lake District National Park and the Whitbarrow National Nature Reserve. This tranquil corner of South Cumbria is a haven for walkers, cyclists, and nature lovers, with a variety of trails that begin right from the doorstep. Whether you prefer a gentle woodland stroll or a more challenging hike up to panoramic views over the Lyth Valley and Morecambe Bay, the area offers endless opportunities to explore. The nearby village of Levens, just a short drive away, provides everyday essentials and is home to the historic Levens Hall and its famous topiary gardens. The area also boasts a remarkable food scene. From cosy country pubs like The Hare & Hounds in Levens, to celebrated destinations such as The Punchbowl at Crosthwaite and Gilpin Spice at Crook, there is something for every occasion and palate. And for those planning a truly special meal, High Newton, Cartmel and Bowness are within easy reach and home to several Michelin-starred restaurants including Heft, L’Enclume and Henrock. Local produce is never far away – the popular Low Sizergh Barn shop is just seven minutes’ drive and offers everything from farmhouse cheeses to picnic-ready treats, while Grange-over-Sands hosts one of Cumbria’s finest traditional butchers. Whether you're here to relax in peace, explore the fells, or sample the finest food the region has to offer, Rawsons makes an exceptional base in an inspiring landscape. The Room is non-smoking and non-vaping – this also holds true throughout the property and surrounding woodland. Please note that the space is not suitable for children or infants. We cannot accept pets and respectfully ask that you leave your furry friends at home for this particular trip! While pets are not permitted due to resident farm dogs, highly recommended local kennels are available for day boarding or full care during your stay.
