As you arrive at 51 Steps, you'll make your way up the wooden staircase to the second floor, where the main entrance welcomes you into the heart of this newly renovated oceanfront home. Thoughtfully updated with all new furnishings, this spacious retreat offers plenty of room for families and groups to gather while enjoying breathtaking views of the Atlantic. Second Floor – The Heart of the Home The second floor is the main living area, featuring a bright, open-concept living room, dining area, and fully equipped kitchen with beautiful ocean views throughout. Whether you're preparing meals together, relaxing after a day at the beach, or simply enjoying the scenery, this level was designed to bring everyone together. Step outside onto the expansive wraparound oceanfront deck, where comfortable seating invites you to enjoy your morning coffee, afternoon breeze, or evening conversations while overlooking the beach. A large outdoor dining table seats eight, making it the perfect spot for meals with a view. Just off the main deck, a side deck offers a loveseat and additional seating for a quiet place to unwind. Also on this level is a convenient laundry area with a full-size washer and dryer, along with a half bathroom that can be accessed directly from the outdoor deck, making it easy to freshen up after a day on the beach. First Floor – Private Guest Retreat Accessible from inside the home via the interior staircase, the first floor provides a comfortable and private retreat that's ideal for additional family members or friends. This spacious room features two full-size beds, a Smart TV, and a cozy sitting area with a sleeper sofa, creating a flexible space to relax after a day in the sun. A full bathroom with a walk-in shower is located inside the room. Sliding glass doors open directly to the backyard, where you'll find the outdoor shower, a beach closet stocked with beach toys and gear, and the private path leading to your private dune crossover for direct beach access. Third Floor – Rest & Recharge The upper level features three beautifully appointed bedrooms designed for comfort and relaxation. The large oceanfront bedroom offers two full size beds, a working desk and large 65" smart TV. breathtaking sunrise views, and a private ensuite bathroom with beautiful ocean views. The second oceanfront bedroom features one king size bed with 55" Smart TV and spectacular views of the Atlantic, allowing guests to wake up to the sound of the waves each morning. This bedroom also has direct access to a full bathroom, which is also accessible from the hallway for added convenience. The third bedroom features two twin beds plus a 40" Smart TV, making it a perfect space for children or additional guests. Both upstairs bathrooms offer beautiful ocean views, adding another special touch to your stay. Welcome to the quieter side of Melbourne Beach! 7185 S Hwy A1A is located along a beautiful stretch of Florida’s barrier island, surrounded by the natural beauty of the Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge. This area is known for its uncrowded beaches, sea turtles, incredible sunrises, fishing, surfing, biking, and abundant Florida wildlife. The Archie Carr refuge protects one of the most important sea turtle nesting areas in the world. 🐢🌊 The neighborhood has a peaceful, residential feel rather than a busy resort atmosphere. You’ll find the Atlantic Ocean on one side of the barrier island and the Indian River Lagoon on the other, making this a wonderful location for guests who enjoy nature and the outdoors. A short drive south takes you to Sebastian Inlet State Park, a local favorite for fishing, surfing, swimming, kayaking, wildlife watching, and exploring the coastline. The Barrier Island Center is also nearby and is a great stop for families or anyone interested in learning more about sea turtles and the unique barrier-island ecosystem. Restaurants, grocery stores, coffee shops, and other conveniences are available along A1A and toward the town of Melbourne Beach. Because this part of the island is quieter and less commercialized, we recommend picking up groceries and essentials before settling in for the evening. 🌊 LOCAL TIP Take time to slow down and enjoy the surroundings! Walk the beach at sunrise, watch for dolphins offshore, look for turtle tracks during nesting season, or simply enjoy an evening listening to the waves. This is Old Florida beach living at its best — peaceful, natural, and wonderfully removed from the crowds. 🌴🐢☀️ Other Things to Note 51 Steps is located in the heart of the Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge, one of the most important sea turtle nesting areas in the world. During turtle nesting season (typically May–October), please help us protect the turtles by keeping ocean-facing lights off at night, closing blinds and curtains after dark, and avoiding flash photography on the beach. You may be lucky enough to witness a turtle nesting or hatchlings making their way to the ocean — a truly unforgettable experience. Melbourne Beach is known for its peaceful, natural setting, so with that comes Florida wildlife and nature. You may see native birds, lizards, turtles, raccoons, and other local wildlife during your stay. Depending on the weather and season, no-see-ums and mosquitoes can also be present, especially around sunrise and sunset, so we recommend bringing bug spray and packing some lightweight long sleeve tops and pants if you plan to spend extended time outdoors in the evenings. The Atlantic Ocean can be beautiful but powerful. There are no lifeguards directly in front of the property, and ocean conditions can change quickly with strong currents, rip tides, shore breaks, and waves. Please use caution while swimming and always supervise children near the water. While the property offers a peaceful and secluded beach experience, restaurants, grocery stores are typically about 10–15 minutes away, so we recommend planning ahead before settling in for the evening. There is also a long sidewalk and bike path running parallel to A1A that many locals enjoy using for walking, biking, and golf cart cruising. Golf cart rentals are available locally and can be a fun way to explore the area. Traveling with little ones? We’ve partnered with a local baby equipment rental company that offers items such as cribs, high chairs, strollers, and other baby gear that can often be delivered directly to the home before your arrival. Planning an Event? Parties, large gatherings, and events are not permitted without prior approval. We do understand that guests may want to celebrate special occasions while enjoying the property, and approved small events may be considered on a case-by-case basis with advance permission. Approved events are subject to an additional $1,500 event fee, and additional terms may apply depending on the size and nature of the gathering. Unauthorized parties or events are strictly prohibited. Pet Owners:Please note that 51 Steps is not a pet-friendly property. Due to owner preferences and allergy considerations, pets are not permitted at the home, and we are unable to make exceptions. Unauthorized pets brought onto the property may result in additional fees and/or cancellation of the reservation. Base Rate and Additional Guests: The nightly rate includes up to 8 registered overnight guests. Additional overnight guests beyond 8 are welcome with prior approval at a rate of $50 per person, per night. We also ask that any daytime visitors be reported in advance. Approved daytime visitors are subject to a $25 per person, per day fee. Calling all Golf Lovers: Aquarina Golf & Country Club is a scenic, public 18-hole, par-62 golf course located in Melbourne Beach. The course winds through native palms, live oaks, lakes and mangrove areas within the Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge, giving golfers a beautiful taste of “Old Florida.” With four tee-box options, it offers an enjoyable challenge for beginners and experienced golfers alike. Most rounds can be completed in under 3½ hours, and both 9- and 18-hole tee times are available. Rocket Launch Experience: Florida’s Space Coast offers incredible views of rocket launches from Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral. Many launches can be seen right from the beach...night launches are especially spectacular! Launch dates and times frequently change because of weather or technical conditions, so check the Space Coast launch schedule before heading outside. During some launches or landings, you may also hear a loud rumble or sonic boom. 🚀 Exploring the Island: The Barrier Island Center at Doc Ehrhart Sanctuary is a free nature and education center located within the Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge. The 34-acre sanctuary features interactive exhibits, an ocean observation deck, gift shop, beach access and a one-mile nature trail stretching from the Atlantic dunes to the Indian River Lagoon. Visitors can learn about the area’s sea turtles, coastal habitats and native wildlife. Seasonal guided turtle walks and educational programs are also offered, although reservations may be required.
