Gatlinburg & the Great Smoky Mountains: the Tennessee Side

Great Smoky Mountains National Park drew about 11.5 million visits in 2025, the most of any US national park. This guide covers the Tennessee side — Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, Wears Valley, Townsend and Cosby — with what you need to know first: the parking tag, the Laurel Falls closure and Cades Cove's car-free Wednesdays.
