Pets / Domestic Animals Domestic animals cannot be accommodated. Domestic animals have harmed wildlife living within the nature preserve in the past. Peanut, a senior 25-pound dog, lives on the property and may be seen during a stay. Peanut is friendly with humans and does not do well with other domestic animals. Sculptdecor Studio The Sculptdecor Studio is located on the 58 acres near the Art Lodge at the bottom of the driveway. Dustin specializes in animatronics, steel sculptures, wood carvings, and mixed media. Live art performances and experience packages are available; details can be shared through messages. The hosts’ home is on the same 58-acre property. Although the home is not visible from the Art Lodge or Tiny Bungalows, support is often nearby if needed. The immersive art installations and symbolism throughout the property are designed to build connection, inspire wellness, and spark creativity. -Raven & Dustin- Raven’s Retreat Hocking Hills Security: Three outdoor cameras are located at the Unique Art Lodge: one facing the front door and two facing the gravel parking areas. Eating Out? Two miles away, in Laurelville, there are 6 family owned restaurants. The State Parks & Nature Preserves nearby are: Rockhouse ( 6.5 miles away ), Conkles Hollow ( 10.5 miles away ), Whispering Cave ( 14 miles away ), Old Man's Cave ( 14 miles away ), Ash Cave ( 13 miles ), Cantwell Cliffs ( 12 miles away ), and several more! Laurelville is a small town on the western end of the Hocking Hills. The closest larger towns within a 30 minute drive are: Logan, Lancaster, Circleville, and Chillicothe. The best Wi-fi coverage option in the Hocking Hills is installled. It potentially could have a pause in service but only during really heavy storms. The black wood stove downstairs within the Art Lodge is for LOOKS ONLY; no fires are permitted within the stove. There is one small senior dog, a jack russell terrier mix named Peanut that lives on the 58-acre preserve. If you happen to see him while staying at the Art Lodge, he may steal your heart. He is friendly with humans and knows how to charm for snacks. Big time! Peanut does not do well with other domestic animal companions, so do not bring them to the Art Lodge. Domestic animals have caused many wildlife deaths in the past; this is an additional reason why domestic animals are not permitted on our nature preserve. No trash, liquid chemical fire starters, or cigarette butts are allowed in the firepit. Hosts will supply Firestarter. Keep your fires within the fire pit at all times and no higher than 2 feet. A four-wheel drive vehicle is recommended during the snowy weather. Exterior security cameras are in use at this property front door and near the parking area.
