Important Restrictions • Due to Sian Ka’an being a protected reserve, it is not permitted to bring external ATVs, water sports equipment such as kiteboards, or audio equipment. • Fishing is forbidden in order to protect endangered sea life. • Roads in Sian Ka’an are unpaved, so distances and times may vary depending on season and road condition. • Strictly quiet hours in the community after 10pm (no loud music allowed). Penalties may apply for noncompliance. • Riviera Maya may experience naturally occurring seaweed during the hotter months due to warming weather and fluctuating ocean currents.
