Description
A bright two-bedroom apartment a short walk from Queenscliff Beach, at the quiet northern end of the Manly sand. Light pours in through two walls of glass, and a covered balcony runs the whole length of the apartment — barbecue, bar table, leafy outlook. King and double bedrooms, a full kitchen, laundry, fast Wi-Fi and two desks. Walk the promenade to Manly in twenty minutes, or take the ferry into the city in twenty. his is a light-filled apartment on the quiet side of Queenscliff, the northern end of the long Manly beach strand. The living space sits under a raked ceiling with windows along two sides, so it is bright from breakfast through to sunset, and the whole apartment opens onto a covered balcony that runs its full length. Living and dining A deep L-shaped sofa faces a wall of glass, with a round coffee table, a rug underfoot and a smart television for the evenings. A solid timber dining table with bench seating sits between the lounge and the kitchen — good for a long breakfast, a laptop session or dinner with everyone around it. A deep green feature wall and a generous scatter of plants give the room its character. Kitchen A full white kitchen set up for genuine cooking, not just reheating: electric cooktop, under-bench oven, dishwasher and a large double-door fridge-freezer with water and ice. There is an espresso machine, a blender, a kettle, a toaster and a proper knife block, with plenty of bench to spread out on and a tiled splashback behind. Main bedroom A king bed with bedside tables and lamps either side, a soft oval mirror on the wall and its own wall of windows onto the balcony. Carpet underfoot, and the light in here in the morning is the best in the apartment. Second bedroom A double bed with a timber headboard, a built-in mirrored wardrobe, and a desk and chair under the window looking into the treetops — so two people can both work without sitting on top of each other. Bathroom and laundry A crisp white bathroom with a frameless walk-in shower, wall-hung vanity with a mirror cabinet, and a hexagon-tiled floor. The washing machine is in here too, with a drying rack, and there is a clothesline in the shared yard downstairs. Balcony The reason to book this one. A covered timber deck runs the entire length of the apartment, screened in greenery with a big tree just beyond the rail. There is a gas barbecue at one end, a tall bar table with stools along the rail for morning coffee, and folding chairs to move into the sun. It is sheltered enough to use year round. Working from here Two dedicated desks — one in the living area with a monitor and an ergonomic chair, one in the second bedroom. Wi-Fi provider and typical speed to confirm. Long stays are genuinely workable here, which is why the apartment suits relocation, insurance and corporate bookings as well as holidays. Comfort The apartment has windows on two sides and a full-length balcony, so it moves air well in summer. There is no air-conditioning, but we will provide pedestal fans which are quiet good considering this is a tree lined apartment Queenscliff is the northern end of the long ocean beach that runs down through North Steyne and South Steyne into Manly — the same stretch of sand, but the calm end of it. It is a residential surf pocket rather than a strip: locals walking dogs at dawn, the lagoon and its footbridge at the north end, and the Queenscliff boardwalk heading down the beach. On your doorstep. Queenscliff Beach and the Queenscliff ocean rock pool are the closest swim, with Queenscliff Surf Life Saving Club patrolling the flags through summer. Queenscliff Lagoon and the footbridge sit at the northern end. Over the headland is Freshwater Beach, where Duke Kahanamoku gave Australia its first surfboard demonstration in 1914. Eat and drink. Pilu at Freshwater is the special-occasion booking — Sardinian, right on Freshwater Beach — with the Harbord Hotel nearby for something more relaxed. Twenty minutes down the beach in Manly, Pittwater Road and The Corso deliver the rest: Rollers Bakehouse for pastries, Barrel One and Skittle Lane for coffee, The Boathouse at Shelly Beach for brunch, The Herring Room and Sunset Sabi for dinner, Chica Bonita for tacos, and 4 Pines and the Hotel Steyne for a beer. Shopping. Freshwater Village over the hill has a Woolworths and the everyday shops. Manly adds Harris Farm Markets and Ruby Lane Wholefoods on Pittwater Road, and Westfield Warringah Mall at Brookvale is a short bus ride for anything larger. Getting outdoors. The beachfront promenade runs all the way into Manly. From there it is Shelly Beach, the Fairy Bower pool, North Head lookout and the ten-kilometre Manly to Spit coastal walk. Manly Surf School runs lessons at North Steyne, and Manly Dam is a short drive for bush trails and a picnic. Designed for restful, respectful stays. Strictly no parties, no events and no loud gatherings — we screen bookings and work hard to be good neighbours in a residential building. Quiet hours 10pm to 7am, and that applies on the balcony too — sound carries between the units here. Stairs. Unit 9 is reached by an external walkway and stairs, with no lift — worth factoring in for heavy luggage or limited mobility. Laundry. A washing machine is in the bathroom, with a drying rack and a shared clothesline in the rear yard. There is no dryer. Climate. No air-conditioning or central heating, We have fans and space heaters if needed for your comfort. No smoking anywhere on the property, including the balcony and common areas. Pet-free. Registered short-term rental accommodation. Long stays welcome. Discounted weekly and monthly rates — relocation, corporate and insurance bookings are very welcome, and the two desks make them workable. Hotel-standard turnover. Professionally cleaned and inspected between every booking, with consumables replaced for each guest.
