Nestled within one of Deep Creek Lake's most tranquil coves, Wisp’d Away provides a warm atmosphere to enjoy the good things in life with good people. Whether it’s an adventurous day on the lake, reconnecting with nature or a cozy evening at the fire pit. Located 20 min from downtown Mchenry & Wisp Resort your vacation awaits. If one word were to describe Wisp'd Away it would be "Hygge". If you have ever left a gathering of friends and family and felt as if you were wrapped in a hug, that is hygge; a feeling of comfort and joy, brought about by time with close-ones in a setting of effortless, cozy luxury that brings the outdoors in. With an open floor plan and views of either the lake or serene wooded trails from every window in the house, Wisp'd Away provides for a simple, modern cabin feel. Impeccably furnished by local artisans, Wisp'd Away's high-end touches such as exotic stone kitchen counters, a brand-new, wifi-enabled, 8-person jacuzzi, 2 outdoor gas grills, 4 Roku Smart TV's, a bluetooth compatible Crosley record player, a Tesla level 2 charger and a massive stone fireplace located in the center of the house, leaves a luxurious modern-vintage feel in every space of the home. The heart of the home: eating & drinking, oh my! Inside, and on the main level, a wide open kitchen and dining area allows for seating up to 12 people, plus 1 infant highchair and 2 toddler highchairs. A large center kitchen island and bar give space for casual morning coffee and breakfast prep while a formal sit-down dinning table comfortably sits 10 for family meals. The kitchen includes everything you need to cook a full Holiday dinner or prepare for a 4th of July celebration; with 2 stone sinks and ample counter space there is more than enough room for multiple cooks in this kitchen. A full-size, walk-in pantry affords for abundant storage and under cabinet lighting serves as early morning ambiance for sunrise cups of coffee. Cuisinart pots/pans, cupcake/muffin tins, cookie sheets, pie plates, multiple casserole dishes, storage Tupperware containers along with mini-appliances such as a Keurig coffee machine, a drip coffee maker, toaster oven, rice cooker, Hot Pot pressure cooker, 2 blenders, tea kettle and an ice machine located in the freezer. Downstairs, a mini-kitchenette area located in the movie and game room, allows for guests staying on the lower level, to make a quick cup of coffee and hop back in bed, as well as, a blender bar area for evening cocktails and treats during game times. (Keurig coffee machine, mini fridge, microwave & sink) The Billiard's room includes a live edge drink rail and bar and mini fridge for late night fun without disturbing the rest of the house. Outside, 2 gas grills and multiple seating areas give you various options for gathering. The upstairs patio consists of an 8-person dinning table and outdoor living room nook, while the downstairs walkout opens up to extra large Adirondack chairs, a round picnic table, a porch swing, 2 loungers and access to the jacuzzi platform with bench seating all around. Captain, Pirate or Stow-away: work and play! For all you Captains out there, the upstairs loft area has a dedicated workspace inclusive of a 24in-HD, flatscreen monitor and a HDMI cable for laptop connection. There is 1gb internet throughout the house. Pirates, pick your playtime: on the lake, in the woods or are you an indoor stow-away? Whether you are an adrenaline junky and want to push the limits waterskiing/wakeboarding, white-water rafting and tubbing or prefer to slow down with a stand-up-paddle-board (SUP), kayak or canoe trip, Wisp'd Away's lake frontage has you covered. Meander down a short private path to an assigned boat slip and dock. SUP/canoe or kayak around Savage Cove to explore our wetland refuge and its wide variety of ducks, turtles and birds, or jump on your boat and head directly into the larger body of Deep Creek Lake for fun-filled afternoons of boating, sailing and tubing. Tie up an inflatable pad off the dock and spend a lazy afternoon relaxing in the sun. (Rental options for all water equipment referenced in the Guidebook). Are you interested in a wooded adventure? Mountain biking, hiking, snowshoeing, and forest Hide-n-Seek tournaments? Head out into our 3 .5 acres of private trails for a quick mountain bike or cross country ski warm-up-- before hitting some of DCL's larger trail system or play rounds of hide-n-seek in the woods with the little ones, build a fort, play freeze tag or climb, swing and flip with your littles on the Creative Playthings outdoor activity center. Your imagination is the only limit. Indoor Stow-aways: need to rest a sunburn? Rainy day? Some alone time? Every communal room in Wisp'd Away is arranged to foster a sense of togetherness, conversation and well-being. On the main floor, the cozy living space makes perfect use of the large glass patio doors giving way to expansive views of the lake and woods, while a grand stone fireplace brings about a sense of intimacy and warmth. Local artisan furnishings and decor provide for just the right touch of under-spoken luxury while you sit and read by a roaring fire, or enjoy a glass of wine while listening to some music. The open floor plan across the kitchen/dining and living area gifts a feeling of oneness with all the activities of the home. On the lower level, the main family room with a gas-burning fire place and radiant-heated tile flooring, hosts a 70-in Roku Smart TV and massive cloud couch for movie nights and game times. A full-size, electric air-hockey table, dart board and multiple boardgames give options for more indoor fun. A private Billiards room grants additional space for separate groups to enjoy different indoor activities- the 7-ft pool table is just the right size for casual play. Private Quarters: bedrooms and baths Wisp'd Away is a 4 bedroom, 3 1/2 bath house that sleeps a total of 12 people, plus 2 cribs (certified green guard). Each bedroom is simply but beautifully decorated and provides for ample privacy and quiet away time as needed. Main Level beds & baths: The powder room is located in the foyer. Primary Bedroom- king bed, 1 crib, walk-in closet, 55-in Roku Smart TV Primary adjacent bath- soaking tub, separate standing shower, hair dryer Upper Level bed & bath: Guest bedroom- queen bed, large closet, 43-in Roku Smart TV Guest bedroom- 3 double bunk beds with slides and lower level kids house Main Bath- newly update full bath (shower/bath combo), skylight, hairdryer Lower Level Bed & bath: Guest bedroom- king bed, 1 crib, walk-in closet, dresser with adjacent bath Bathroom- Glass door standing shower, hairdryer Guests have private use of the entire home which includes an assigned boat slip and shared dock, along with 3.5 acres of private woods to explore. Located just off of Turkey Neck Rd, the Savage Cove neighborhood is in a quieter part of the lake, it consists of large, privately-owned, single family homes; there are very few rental properties here. Wisp'd Away sits at the end of a private gravel road on its own 3.5 acres overlooking the lake. First and foremost we want you to ENJOY OUR HOME and love your time here! In doing so, keep your karma clean and please treat our home with the same respect you would wish from others in your space. So that means... • If you spill it, stain it or drop it, clean it up! (cleaning supplies provided under kitchen sink, Bissel steam cleaner & vacuum in kitchen pantry) • If you break it, let us know! We understand accidents happen, we want to ensure we can fix it/replace it for you during your stay or before your next visit with us. (No matter big or small- wine glass, toilet seat, TV) • If you love it, leave it! Please do not indulge in stealing any artifacts from the home, including but not limited to kitchen supplies, wall art, pillows, blankets, games, etc.. carry out only what you carried in. • Use it/play with it and then put it back where you found it! Please be mindful of where you take items from to use/play with and return them to their place. Keeping the house organized ensures your stay and everyones has the same wonderful qualities. • We provide some items to get your stay started: soaps, paper products and trash bags. If you run out of anything, there are multiple stores to purchase more nearby: ArrowHead Market, Walmart & The Dollar General is just down the road and has a surprisingly well stocked mini-grocery/pharmacy store. • It is very common to see wildlife on the property. Deer, Turkeys, ducks, squirrels, rabbits, etc. Additionally, the area is known for having bears and they love to rummage through trash and may be attracted to food left outside. There are appropriate bear boxes (wooden) provided with two 60 gallon trash cans. Failure to keep trash secured in the bear boxes or proper clean up of gas grills may result in a hungry black bear visit. •Trash is picked up on Wednesdays. (There is no recycling) • If there is a mess of the trash, due to not utilizing the bear boxes appropriately, please clean up the mess otherwise you will incur additional cleaning fees. • Ensure grills are cleaned and covered after each use. • The winter months at the lake are filled with snow (yay!) but also may bring sleet and ice. Check the weather reports ahead of arrival. • All Wheel-Drive vehicles are highly recommended in the winter months to access the home. • Please leave all outdoor equipment (skis, boards, boots, sleds, snowshoes, etc..) outside the house. There is a provide rack on the front porch. • There are a few rubber shoe storage mats in the coat closet to avoid trekking snow, salt, mud throughout the house. Security: • Wisp'd Away is outfitted with Ring security cameras and motion detecting lights all along the outside perimeter of the house and driveway. Our 2 strictest policies: 1. No smoking inside the home (no marijuana, no cigarettes, no vaping, etc.) or within the 3.5 acres of woods. Should the property manager find the house to have been smoked in there will be an additional cleaning fee and complete forfeiture of deposit. • If you do choose to smoke, please do so outside the home and ensure all ashes, cigarette butts and paraphernalia are cleaned up and removed. If there is even a hint of smoke in the house or smoking debris inside or outside your deposit will be withheld. 2. No parties allowed. Keep it respectful and fun, you know what a party is. Our neighbors are private homeowners who do not rent out their homes, noise travels farther in seclusion. If there is evidence of an ongoing party, we will call the police to check-in, you may be immediately evicted and there will be no refund for your stay and your deposit will be withheld. The UGLY, but necessary aside: • If you have received a negative review from a prior stay, we reserve the right to decline your reservation. In some instances we may require an additional refundable $1000 security deposit if all the house rules as mentioned above are observed.
