Stableyard Cottage
About the Home
Stableyard Cottage is a beautifully renovated one-bedroom retreat within the charming Osbaston Mews, set in the grounds of the historic Osbaston Hall. Thoughtfully designed for comfort and flexibility, this cosy countryside escape combines elegant interiors, heritage details and peaceful parkland surroundings, making it perfect for romantic stays or as part of the wider Osbaston Collection for group getaways. Nestled within the picturesque Osbaston Mews, Stableyard Cottage offers a charming countryside escape set against the historic backdrop of Osbaston Hall. Newly renovated, the cottage blends heritage references with modern comforts to create a welcoming space designed for relaxed rural stays. The cottage is arranged entirely on the ground floor and benefits from convenient ramp access, making it easily accessible for guests. Entry is through a fully equipped contemporary kitchen where clean modern finishes meet the warmth of a thoughtfully designed cottage interior. The cosy living area provides a comfortable space to unwind after a day exploring the surrounding countryside. A striking framed print of Garendon Hall from 1790 hangs proudly in the room, depicting the estate prior to its Victorian remodelling. The artwork commemorates Thomas March Phillipps’ tenure as High Sheriff of Leicestershire and offers a fascinating glimpse into the region’s architectural past. Additional historic imagery of parkland follies adds to the room’s character, while the deep antique settee upholstered in rich Habsburg fabric brings a subtle regal charm. The spacious bedroom continues the cottage’s blend of comfort and heritage. The flexible zip and link bed can be arranged as either a luxurious king or twin beds to suit different stays. Elegant finishing touches include a distinctive bedcover sourced from the Marie Antoinette exhibition at London’s V&A Museum, adding a subtle nod to European history and craftsmanship. Stableyard Cottage sits within the beautiful grounds of Osbaston Hall, a privately owned 18th century country house surrounded by the rolling countryside of rural Leicestershire. The wider Osbaston Mews estate is set within landscaped parkland where open views, mature trees and historic design elements create a peaceful and picturesque setting. The surrounding countryside offers wonderful opportunities for walking, cycling and enjoying the slower pace of rural life. Nearby market towns such as Market Bosworth and Ashby de la Zouch offer independent shops, historic streets and a variety of welcoming cafés and traditional country pubs. Guests can also explore the wider Charnwood Forest area, known for its scenic landscapes, woodland trails and charming villages. For those wishing to venture further, Leicester, Loughborough and Birmingham are all within easy reach, offering excellent restaurants, shopping and cultural attractions. East Midlands Airport is also conveniently accessible, making Stableyard Cottage a tranquil countryside retreat that remains well connected. Please note that the grounds of Osbaston Hall are privately owned and are not accessible for guest walks. We kindly ask that guests respect the privacy of the estate and refrain from walking within the Hall’s grounds. We would, however, be delighted to recommend a variety of beautiful local walks nearby for you to enjoy during your stay. Visit with Confidence.
