Welcome aboard El Pescador, where every corner is designed to feel like life on a boat, with two distinct living areas—the Captain’s Quarters and the Crew’s Quarters—all within a fully enclosed property secured by private codes and gated entry. 🛏 Captain’s Quarters (Main Home, Upstairs) The Captain’s Quarters is the heart of El Pescador. Walk through the yard and upstairs into a cozy, boat-inspired one-bedroom, one-bath home. Inside you’ll find: -A full kitchen stocked with cookware, coffee, tea, and essentials. -A dining area, coffee station, and workstation for remote needs. -A living room with TV, games, vinyl player, and eclectic nautical décor. -A futon for a 5th guest. -The only full bathroom on the property, stocked with essential toiletries and fresh towels. -A sound machine in the bedroom, plus extra linens and blankets for comfort. -Iron and ironing board available for use. The highlight? A hand-painted sky mural by artist Marco Calderon (your host’s father), featuring a soaring seagull and Ocean Beach’s famous parrot—bringing the open sea indoors. ⚓ Crew’s Quarters (Downstairs by Garage) The Crew’s Quarters offers a private, tucked-away space with its own entrance. Designed to echo a below-deck cabin, it includes: -Bunk beds for cozy sleeping arrangements. -Laundry machines with detergent provided. -A sink and lockers for storage. -Essential toiletries and fresh towels. Both Quarters are secured with their own custom codes for privacy and peace of mind. 🌴 Outdoor Spaces Step outside to your private oasis: -A yard with dining area, perfect for meals under the sky. -A sandy “playita” (little beach) for sunbathing and lounging. -A fire pit for cozy evenings. -An outdoor shower to rinse off after beach days or surf sessions. -A balcony with a view of SeaWorld fireworks, adding a magical touch to your evenings. 🏄 Surfer’s Retreat + Garage Garage parking for one car; the other half is used for storage. -Space to store surfboards, hang wetsuits, or even borrow a foamie board (perfect for beginners). -Beach gear included: towels, chairs, toys, and more. 🐾 Thoughtful Touches At El Pescador, every detail is designed with care: -Coffee and tea ready “on board.” -Comfort items: sound machine, extra linens, blankets, hair dryer, iron, ironing board. -Beach essentials: towels, chairs, toys. -Pet amenities: dog and cat bowls, plus treats to make furry guests feel at home. El Pescador is located in the heart of Ocean Beach (OB), one of San Diego’s most vibrant coastal communities. Known for its laid-back surf culture, eclectic shops, and colorful locals, OB is a place where you can wander from tide pools to taco stands in the same afternoon. Walk to the OB Pier, tide pools, and lively Newport Avenue, filled with coffee shops, breweries, restaurants, and boutiques. Just a short drive or bike ride away, you’ll find Sunset Cliffs Natural Park with its dramatic ocean views, Mission Bay for water sports and family fun, and Belmont Park with its historic roller coaster and boardwalk vibes. Explore nearby Point Loma for breathtaking harbor views and seafood dining, or head to Old Town, Liberty Station, Little Italy, and Balboa Park for San Diego’s rich history, culture, and food scene. Please note that the only full bathroom is located in the Captain’s Quarters upstairs. The Crew’s Quarters includes bunk beds, a sink, and laundry machines but no shower or separate bathroom. -Outdoor Shower: There is a private outdoor shower available for rinsing off after the beach or surf sessions. -Community Setting: El Pescador is part of a small three-home community, which includes Sasha’s Bungalow (another vacation rental) and one long-term residence. The property is fully enclosed for safety and privacy. -Pets Welcome: Small to medium dogs and cats are welcome with a one-time fee of $45 per pet per stay. Please note: the backyard is not meant to be a bathroom — we kindly ask that you take your pet out for potty breaks and clean up after them. Bowls and treats are provided for furry friends. Any additional cleaning or damage will incur a $40/hour fee (minimum 1 hour), plus the cost to replace or repair items and any materials or additional services needed. -Parking: One space is available inside the garage and another directly in front of it. Street parking is also available nearby. -Unique Experience: El Pescador is designed to feel like life on a boat — cozy, eclectic, and adventurous. If you’re traveling with young children or need more traditional layouts, please keep in mind that the Captain’s and Crew’s Quarters are accessed separately. -Noise & Location: While OB has a relaxed, beachy vibe, it’s also a lively neighborhood.
