Horseman’s Hideaway 2 bedroom cabin - dogs welcome
About the Home
Horseman’s Hideaway is a well-appointed 2 bedroom / 1 bathroom cabin in the popular Timberline Meadows community in the upper Methow Valley – close to Mazama with trails just steps away! Is your dream of an ideal vacation enjoying a cup of coffee in a comfy Adirondack chair, getting out on the trails in the sun or the snow, and then finishing off the evening in front of a warm fire? If so, welcome to Horseman’s Hideaway – your outdoor recreation headquarters at Timberline Meadows. Horseman’s Hideaway is a modern single level cabin with high wood-paneled ceilings and a large west facing deck. The open plan living space features a lounge area with comfortable leather chairs and couch arranged around the gas fireplace, large wooden dining table with seating for 8, and a well-equipped kitchen. The home has recently been updated with mini split air conditioning units for your comfort. The two queen bedrooms are to the rear of the home and have a cozy cabin feel; each has a queen bed and built-in closet. The bathroom has a bath tub with a shower over, and there is a washer and dryer located in the hallway closet. The west facing deck has four adirondack chairs. The Mazama store is about a mile away, allowing you to stock up on gourmet snacks and world-renowned baguettes before heading out on adventures for the day. You can wind down your day at the Mazama Public House. Or watch the day come to a close as the sun sets over Last Chance Point and the North Cascades from the comfort of the living room with its wall of windows or from the Adirondack chairs on the front deck. The Timberline Meadows development, located in the Upper Methow Valley, is home to eight nightly rentals, as well as several private homes. The homes are all nestled in the trees at the edge of the National Forest. The wintertime ‘John’s Way’ cross country ski, snowshoe and fat bike trails connects Timberline Meadows to Mazama and the Upper Methow trail system (permits required in winter), making this a great ski-in / ski-out location, away from the bustle of the Mazama trailhead but close enough to ski down to the store. The Mazama Store, with its great bakery and ‘a little bit of everything good’ is just a 5 minute drive or 10 minute bike ride from the cabin, and around 20 minutes by ski (depending how fast you slide and glide). Mountain bike and ski rentals are also available in Mazama. Other local attractions include the Loup Loup Ski Bowl, Winthrop Rink (named one of the 10 best ice rinks in the West by Sunset Magazine and one of the only NHL-sized refrigerated rinks in the country – open for Pickleball and inline skating in the summer), Early Winters Outfitters which features horseback riding is just at the Timberline Meadows turnoff from Highway 20. North Cascades National Park is just west on Highway 20, part of the Cascade Loop. And of course, the Methow Valley is home to the largest cross-country ski trail network in North America with great skiing and abundant sunshine! A/C The cabin has a mini-split air conditioning.
