Days are spent exploring the Dales’ rolling fells, winding rivers and picturesque villages, while evenings invite a slower pace beside the fire, around the dining table, or soaking in the terrace hot tub beneath vast Yorkshire skies. Charming market towns, scenic walking trails and traditional country pubs lie on the doorstep, with the Lake District just a short drive away. Old Dairy Barn is a place to reconnect, unwind and savour time together, the kind of weekend where the hours drift by unnoticed. This is a walking country: the smooth, green Howgill Fells, the heights of Wild Boar Fell, and Smardale Gill nature reserve with its great stone viaduct are all close, while the celebrated Settle–Carlisle railway threads dramatic scenery nearby. Sedbergh, England’s book town, and a scattering of dale villages with old stone pubs are within easy reach. Days are for the fells, the rivers and the views; evenings for the fire and the hot tub, with the Dales all around. Guests can request extra towels for an extra £2.49 each, even though laundry facilities are offered, and on a 14 night stay there would be a change of linen and towels on the 7th night.
