In the most important square of Modena you will be able to see old people meeting up to chat, children playing, or those simply enjoying the sun standing exactly in the center of the square. Also go down into the underground crypt, where the tomb of San Geminiano, patron saint of the city, is kept. One of our habits is to sit on the benches of Corso Duomo, in front of the facade of the cathedral, and enjoy the view. Before leaving Piazza Grande, look towards the right corner of the Town Hall, right where the long portico ends: there you will see a small statue, depicting a woman. Her identity is shrouded in mystery, an ancient legend to which the people of Modena are very attached.
