The Coach House
About the Home
The Coach House is a beautifully renovated two-bedroom retreat within the charming Osbaston Mews, set in the grounds of historic Osbaston Hall. Sleeping up to six guests, including a spacious family bedroom, this characterful property blends heritage features with contemporary comfort. Ideal for family stays or group escapes, it can be booked on its own or as part of the wider Osbaston Collection. Located within the historic Osbaston Mews, The Coach House offers generous accommodation that blends period character with modern comfort. Originally built in the 1740s by Wrightson Mundy, grandson of Philippa, the daughter and heiress of Michael Wrightson of Osbaston, the building forms part of the long heritage of the estate. At the heart of the property is a bright open-plan kitchen, dining and living area designed for socialising and relaxed stays. The modern kitchen is fully equipped for everything from leisurely breakfasts to family dinners, while the dining space comfortably accommodates guests. The living area offers a welcoming place to unwind, enriched with historical pieces that reflect the heritage of the estate. The living room features a striking armorial of the Dormer family from the early 17th century, originally from Ascott Park in Buckinghamshire. Also displayed is a life-size brass rubbing of Sir John Lisle from Thruxton Church, based on the original 1407 monument depicting one of the earliest knights in full plate armour in England. Throughout the home, decorative pieces reflect the heritage of Osbaston Hall and its owners, adding thoughtful and characterful touches to the space. The master bedroom is a spacious family room and features a super king-size zip and link bed that can be arranged as either a king or twin beds and two single fold-out ottoman beds. For larger family stays, the room can also accommodate two additional single beds, allowing flexible sleeping arrangements for up to four guests in this room. The bedroom also benefits from a large private ensuite bathroom. A second bedroom, also with its own ensuite, provides additional comfort and flexibility for guests. A separate WC is conveniently located off the main landing. The Coach House sits within the grounds of Osbaston Hall, a privately owned 18th century country house surrounded by the rolling countryside of rural Leicestershire. The historic Osbaston Mews forms part of the wider Osbaston Collection, a group of unique properties set within the estate. The surrounding parkland offers peaceful countryside views, mature trees and quiet country lanes that are perfect for walking and cycling. Just a short drive away is the charming market town of Market Bosworth, known for its historic square, independent shops, cafés and traditional country pubs. History lovers can visit the nearby Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre, where the famous Battle of Bosworth Field took place. The historic town of Ashby-de-la-Zouch is also close by, offering restaurants, boutique shops and the impressive ruins of Ashby de la Zouch Castle. For those who enjoy the outdoors, the beautiful landscapes of Charnwood Forest and the popular walking trails of Bradgate Park are within easy reach. With Leicester and Birmingham both easily accessible, The Coach House offers a peaceful countryside setting while remaining well connected to the wider Midlands. Please note that the grounds of Osbaston Hall are privately owned and are not accessible for guest walks. We kindly ask that guests respect the privacy of the estate and refrain from walking within the Hall’s grounds. We would, however, be delighted to recommend a variety of beautiful local walks nearby for you to enjoy during your stay. Visit with Confidence.
