Horseshoe Cottage - Cosy Stay by Stow on the Wold
About the Home
Lower Swell is the picturesque village you’ve never heard of, and right there, hidden in plain sight - Horseshoe Cottage. A calm escape made for slowing down and switching off. If you’ve ever wondered what people mean by “a house with character,” this is it. Blending Cotswold charm with understated French-cottage design, it’s a place to while away the hours and feel instantly at home. You’ll have two calm, comfortable bedrooms upstairs, sleeping up to four guests. The principal has a super-king bed and Smart TV, while the second offers a cosy double bed. There’s a full bathroom upstairs with bath and shower, and downstairs you’ll find an additional toilet and sink. The living space centres around a log burner and that ridiculously comfortable sofa that’s perfect for “no, I promise I’m awake” evenings. The kitchen is fully equipped for easy meals and has a dining table for four, though with so many great restaurants nearby you may not need it. Interiors are soft, neutral, and grounded - a French-cottage-inspired take on classic Cotswold charm. Step outside into your private enclosed garden with outdoor seating and a cantilever parasol. It’s a deceptively easy place to linger... perfect for those slow breakfasts, long summertime reads, or nightcaps under dusky evening skies. Lower Swell is the quintessential Cotswold village. Peaceful, picturesque, and surrounded by walking trails and honey-stone cottages. Within walking distance you’ll find The Golden Ball pub for food and drinks, and Stow-on-the-Wold just five minutes away. A short drive takes you to Daylesford Farm Shop, The Slaughters, Bourton-on-the- Water, Burford, Chipping Campden, and Soho Farmhouse. For dining, some of our favourites include The Fox at Oddington, The Bull at Charlbury, The Feathered Nest, The Wild Rabbit and The Plough in Kingham, The Old Butchers and The Porch House in Stow, and The Hollow Bottom. If you want to know any more, don't hesitate to get in touch. Important Information: The house is pet friendly. But we request only one dog. Quiet hours run from 10pm to 8am, and we ask guests to respect the peaceful setting: We are in a beautiful quaint village, no parties, and no smoking indoors. The property isn’t suitable for accessibility needs.
