At the heart of the cottage is a bright, open-plan living area with air conditioning and ceiling fans, alongside a fully equipped kitchen with new appliances – ideal for everything from a quick breakfast before exploring Cairns to relaxed dinners at home. The inviting bedroom offers a comfortable, peaceful place to recharge, while the oversized bathroom brings a touch of indulgence with a freestanding bathtub, separate walk-in shower and double vanity. Outside is where Koru Cottage truly comes into its own. Open the doors to your private covered terrace and fully fenced tropical courtyard, complete with your own plunge pool. Start the day with coffee outside, escape the Cairns heat with an afternoon swim, enjoy a BBQ on the terrace or simply settle in among the tropical greenery. Longer stays & mandatory mid-stay cleaning We welcome longer stays at Koru Cottage. For stays of more than 14 nights, a mandatory mid-stay clean applies at $189 per service. The service helps us maintain the accommodation to a high standard throughout longer stays and provides guests with a fresh, comfortable space. The $189 mid-stay cleaning fee is additional to the departure cleaning fee and will be arranged with you during your stay. Tropical living Cairns is located in the tropics and is home to geckos, insects and other local wildlife. While we maintain the property carefully, you may occasionally encounter some of our tropical neighbours. Keeping doors and screens closed where possible will help minimise unwanted visitors. Pool safety The property has a private pool. Children must be actively supervised around the pool at all times. Residential neighbourhood Koru Cottage is located in a residential area, and we ask all guests to be considerate of our neighbours, particularly when using the terrace and pool in the evening. Parties, events and gatherings are not permitted. Only registered guests are permitted at the property unless prior approval has been provided.

Cairns is the gateway to Tropical North Queensland, with Great Barrier Reef cruises, rainforest adventures, Kuranda and the Northern Beaches all easily accessible from your base. Free street parking is available nearby, making it easy to explore further afield by car. Spend the day discovering Cairns and the reef, then retreat to the privacy of Koru Cottage for a swim and a relaxed evening on your tropical terrace.

Guest Access

Koru Cottage is designed to give you your own private space to settle in and enjoy Cairns at your own pace. Guests have exclusive access to the entire self-contained downstairs retreat, including the private entrance, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living areas. Step outside to your own fully fenced tropical courtyard, covered terrace and private plunge pool – all exclusively yours throughout your stay. Free street parking is available nearby, subject to availability. Please note that the upstairs level is separate and is not included in your booking. Your downstairs accommodation, terrace, courtyard and pool are private and reserved solely for your stay.

House Rules and Terms

We want you to feel at home and enjoy your private tropical retreat. To help us protect the property, our neighbours and future guests, please observe the following house rules. * Check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out is by 10:00 AM. * Only registered guests included in the booking are permitted to stay at or access the property. Visitors require prior approval. * No parties, events or gatherings. * Please respect our neighbours and keep noise to a minimum, particularly when using the private pool and terrace in the evening. * The property is strictly non-smoking and non-vaping indoors. * Children must be actively supervised around the pool at all times. * Please do not bring glassware into the pool area. * Air conditioning should be set to a reasonable temperature and switched off, along with ceiling fans and lights, whenever you leave the property. * Please keep doors and windows closed while the air conditioning is operating. * The BBQ must be left clean after use. Additional cleaning charges may apply if extra cleaning is required. * Please dispose of rubbish in the designated outdoor bins and follow the provided bin collection instructions. * Please report any damage, breakages or maintenance concerns promptly so we can assist. * The upstairs level is separate and is not included in your booking. Please respect all private areas of the property. * The downstairs accommodation, designated terrace, fully fenced courtyard and private pool are for registered Koru Cottage guests. * Pets are not permitted unless specifically approved before arrival. * For stays longer than 14 nights, a mandatory mid-stay clean is required at $165 per service, in addition to the departure cleaning fee. * Cairns is a tropical environment, and geckos, insects and other wildlife may occasionally be present. Please keep doors and screens closed where possible. * When leaving, ensure all doors and windows are secured and return the accommodation key to the lockbox.
