Your ideal Cape Town base, the studio promises a tranquil retreat in the heart of the city, ensuring a comfortable stay in a vibrant urban oasis Experience comfort in our stylish studio flat, featuring a snug double bed, a convenient kitchen, and a modern bathroom with a refreshing shower. Embrace the perfect blend of simplicity and functionality, creating a cozy retreat for your stay Although this suburb is right in the city centre, close to many popular hotels in Cape Town, it retains a quirky, quiet charm of its own, which is perfect for visitors to South Africa that want the best of both worlds. Vredehoek, a residential suburb that lies just outside the city centre on the lower slopes of Devil’s Peak, in the shadow of three unsightly, round towers that dominate the horizon, is a flavourful suburb, popular with DINKYs (dual income, no kids yet) and younger buyers. Directly translated, the name of the suburb means ‘peace corner’ and the neighbourhood is quiet and, although appealing to a few eccentrics, is peaceful. Working in the city and living in Vredehoek, is one of the most popular combinations for Capetonians and the established suburb has become one of the most sought after. Redevelopments of older blocks of flats into trendy apartments have translated into a revival of the neighbourhood, and properties here escalated in price during the recent property boom. Staying in Vredehoek offers some of the best views of the city, over the waterfront, the harbour and Table Mountain, even if the wind seems to blow a little more here. Old Victorian houses share space with popular restaurants and trendy bars, and the suburb’s proximity to the Gardens Centre shopping mall makes stocking up rather easy. The centre of town is moments away as is your access to bohemian Long Street - its quirky mix of African curios, antique shops, book shops and a bevy of coffee shops, restaurants and bistros providing hours of entertainment. Company Gardens, The National Art Gallery, Museum and Houses of Parliament are all within walking distance, and the Table Mountain cableway is only 10 minutes’ drive from Vredehoek. Good to know · Loadshedding: South Africa has scheduled power outages managed by Eskom. Download the free EskomSePush app for real-time schedules — we recommend it for all guests. · Nearby construction: There is some daytime construction activity (Mon–Sat, 6am–6pm). Evenings are quiet. · For bookings longer than 7 nights, a mandatory mid-stay clean will be scheduled every 7 nights (e.g., on Day 8, Day 15, etc.) to maintain hygiene and linen quality. This service includes fresh linen, light cleaning, and trash removal. Fee: R650 per clean (separate from the standard cleaning fee). The fee is payable in advance via Airbnb’s Resolution Centre (an official Airbnb process) and must be settled before check-in. We ask all guests to read the house rules before booking. No parties or events — we want the space to be welcoming for you and respectful of neighbours.
