The property occupies a large two acre parcel of land, in the lowest section of Haiku (out of the rain band) and just a couple of minutes from Hookipa Beach. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with hundreds of trees and plants. A clay tennis court is available for your use. Sitting to one side of the property, with its own garden and lawn, the cottage has a wonderful, tropical garden view, and looks into the edge of the gulch. There are coral rock exterior walls and a patio with teak outdoor dining furniture, gas grill and sun loungers. The interior has a custom kitchen granite counters, top quality appliances including a sub-zero fridge, living area which opens to the deck, two bedrooms (each with a king bed), and a custom, tiled bathroom. Other amenities include telephone, TV, DVD, stereo, laundry, WiFi. This is the perfect cottage if you're seeking a reasonable price, but an upscale interior. One of the best features - a unique, coral rock outdoor shower, fabulous to rinse off when you come home from the beach covered in sand. Note: Owner of main house and a garage building are on the same property. Each has their own private area. Just one mile down the road is Haiku town center, with a variety of amenities and services. For upscale dining, Mama's Fish House and Hali'imaile General Store (two of Maui's best restaurants) are within ten minutes by car. If you are looking for dining and shopping options, Paia or Makawao are only ten minutes by car from Iolani. Groceries: Haiku town center has two small grocery stores - Haiku Grocery, and Fukushima's. Although small in size, they seem to have almost everything you might want. For major grocery shopping, Safeway and Costco are located in Kahului (approx. 20 minutes from the house). Approximately four minutes by car from Iolani is Ho'okipa Beach. Ho'okipa is world famous for surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing. But not to worry...even beginners can learn to surf in the right corner of the beach. Paia Bay beach is right in Paia town (less than 10 minutes by car from Iolani). It's fun to spend time at the beach, but be able to walk to the gelato shop for a cool treat. Within a few minutes walk from the beach, there are plenty of restaurants for lunch. And of course, it doesn't get any more beautiful than Baldwin Beach. It's a long expanse of golden sand. Driving time from Iolani - about 12 minutes.
