📍Lebanon, TN, US

About the Home

Experience rustic charm and modern comfort in our Sunny Honey Horse Stall Suite in the Grand Ole Barn at Starstruck Farm. Whimsical, Fun, Adventurous Lodging! Perfectly Imperfect. This boutique-style retreat features handcrafted woodwork, a cozy queen bed, plus a full size bed in the loft and a private bathroom with spa-like touches, and a cowboy bunkhouse coffee bar. Nestled in a converted horse stall...........perfect for romantic getaways, solo escapes, or music-filled weekends in the Tennessee countryside. This is a no pets unit! Long ago, back in Willow Branch, Indiana there was a runt philly horse which was named Sunny Honey owned by harness horse trainer George Wilfong. People joked about the weird way the little mare ran through the meadow. Wilfong explained that Sunny Honey was a "free legged pacer" which meant that her legs on each side moved together instead of trotting or galloping. On a lark, Wilfong wanted to see if the little horse could race and started training her to pull a sulky cart. The rest is history as Sunny Honey went on to dominate the Indiana county fair circuit for years until she eventually retired and lived out her life in that same meadow! Guests stay in one of a kind, converted horse stalls! Truly a unique, fun life adventure! You also have over 40 acres of beautiful farmland to hike on and enjoy, with farm sights and sounds, picnic areas and snoozy hammocks! Walking distance to Old Hickory Lake, Martha Gallatin Recreation Area and the famous Cherokee Steakhouse & Marina! Starstruck Farm is located 1/4 mile from the big Cumberland River bridge just south of Gallatin, Tennessee. Martha Gallatin Recreation Area and Cherokee Marina and Steakhouse are within easy walking distance from where you will be staying. Gallatin is an "old timey" small Tennessee town with a combination of all of the usual businesses, restaurants and stores and also a great old fashioned downtown area. Starstruck Farm is 32 miles from downtown Nashville and is an easy drive on well maintained state roads and interstate. Jay's favorites and area info Gallatin, Tennessee is a rare gem of old timey Tennessee country culture. When you came to my places (Twig City Farm or Starstruck Farm) you probably came down SR109. SR109 is Water Street, which is the main drag in Gallatin. There are tons of great one of a kind restaurants, including a bunch of Mom and Pop restaurants, particularly on S. Water Street (as you arrive in Gallatin) and also in the downtown area. There are lots of antique stores and shops that seem to be locked in the 1960's. I will talk more about my favorites below....... If you enjoy great locally produced farm produce try Gallatin Farmers Market at 160 W. Franklin and Don's Farm Fresh Produce at 694 Nashville Pike Wilson and Sumner counties have all kinds of entertainment, shops, clubs, and places of interest. Gallatin, Tennessee, is home base for many country music stars such as Reba McIntyre and the Oak Ridge Boys. Also, it is obvious to the entire world that Nashville is one of world's greatest entertainment centers......... Mt. Juliet (just east of Nashville) has even more choices and then of course Nashville....... As far as great local restaurants...... Here is where I go: GALLATIN - Lots of major franchise restaurants, shops, etc and everything you would find in mid-sized towns.) Cherokee Steakhouse and Marina - Located by the Cumberland River Bridge and Reba's house and horse farm. Excellent steaks at very affordable prices. If you want wine, beer or cocktails you will need to bring your own at Cherokee. Top Hog BBQ in Gallatin (best in TN but go at times other than their big rush times or be prepared to wait! Believe it or not cash only ha ha - I offered to wash dishes there one time but they laughed and had mercy on me! Great family owned and operated place!) Prince Street Pub in Gallatin - A must if you enjoy craft beer and great pizza! The secret hang out of many country stars and their buds. Concrete blocks walls, old and covered with scribbles - I am guessing you will love it! Country Mom and Pop meat and 3's.............South Water Street is lined with them and they are all great if you want a real taste of old timey Tennessee culture and cooking! Seafood & drinks by the lake......... You have to check out Awedaddy's at the Gallatin Marina. Open air with excellent food and drinks! Mexican - Dos Margueritas in Gallatin is the best Mexican food in the area! Fun place and excellent food! The shrimp fajitas are GREAT! Tell 'em Senor Jay sent you! Italian (carry out only) - Romano's on S. Water Street in Gallatin. This is a place you would never believe had good, let alone excellent Italian food because it is in a corner of a gas station/convenience store. BUT.....everything I have ever had from Romano's has been excellent! LEBANON AND MT. JULIET Chinese - Peking in Lebanon is sit down, reasonably priced or Fulin's in Mt. Juliet in Providence Marketplace Mom and Pop, meat and 3's.......... Courtney's on N. Mt. Juliet Road in Mt. Juliet is excellent always. Cook to order menu items or cafeteria style. Sunset Restaurant in Lebanon is a table service, old style southern traditional southern cooking. Very good! NASHVILLE Want GREAT BBQ anyone? Try PEG LEG PORKER at 903 Gleaves St, Nashville, TN 37203 or CENTER POINT BBQ in Hendersonville, just east of Nashville off of i-65 or HOG HEAVEN by Centennial Park in downtown Nashville at 115 27th Ave N, Nashville, TN 37203 Italian - Nashville's #1 rated restaurant overall is Joey's House of Pizza on Elm Hill Pike in Nashville. OFF THE CHARTS EXCELLENT! Joey's is a converted gas station and a hidden gem! They are an Italian family and only open weekdays from 11 to 2:30! It is worth the entertainment value alone going through the cafeteria line. Also excellent is Angello's Picnic Pizza on Murfreesboro Road in Nashville - another Italian family transplanted from NYC - lunch buffet and are open regular hours. Fondue - The Melting Pot in downtown Nashville on 2nd Ave. MORE NASHVILLE INFO................ Nashville "must do's......... There are two main "epicenters" of Nashville nightlife. The first is downtown at Broadway and 2nd Avenue. Tons of restaurants, clubs, honky tonks, Bridgestone Arena, the Ryman, etc all in a 4 block area. The second is the "Gulch" area a couple of miles away. If you take S. 12th, off Broadway it starts a few blocks away. This is where the Yuppie throngs hang out. Lots of related clubs, restaurants, etc. BB King's BBQ/Blues on 2nd Ave. Party Fowl - Nashville hot chicken in the Gulch area at 719 8th Ave S, Nashville, TN 37203 Jackalope Micro Brewery at 701 8th. Ave. S (Gulch area) and close to Party Fowl Ride on the Music City Star? Commuter train that has a depot 4 miles from my place and drops off downtown at Broadway and 1st Avenue by the Hard Rock Cafe. Also, while visiting Nashville why not stop coming or going and spend a day at Nashville Shores water park? Just follow the signs on I-40 at the Hermitage exit, east of the airport. Important Note for Starstruck Farm and Twig City Farm Guests: If you reserve one of my Tiny Houses, Horses Stall Suites, A-Frame Glampers, Tents, Teepees or Pitch-A-Tent Listings please stop and consider that you are reserving a listing located on a farm and in the country. It is not unusual to see an occasional insect or small Tennessee wildlife (including Stuart Little on very rare occasion) during your visit. If this is an issue for you or anyone in your party, please do not make a reservation. I am not able to provide a full or partial refund. HOUSE RULES AND INFORMATION: 1. Inherent risks of agritourism activities include, among others, risks of injury and damage inherent to land, equipment, and animals, as well as the potential for you to act in a negligent manner that may contribute to your injury or death or to the damaging of your own property. You are assuming the risk of participating in this agritourism activity. Big No No Section! 1. Honest Number of Guests Reservation Rule. Don’t cheat. Be honest about the true number of guests and pets when you make your reservation. If you fib please expect no higher than a 3 star review. 2. Pets. Leashes and Poop Rules for Fido: In consideration of other guests…… A) ALL dogs must be on leashes at all times when outside AND MUST be cleaned up after. B) Pets must be friendly, clean and well groomed. C) Service pets must be legit and when you book please let us know what services they provide. Read the Arrival Info BEFORE arriving instead of getting mad at me because you got lost. 2. “Cheap place to crash” bookings. If you don’t want to spend a little time enjoying my places and just want a “cheap place to crash” then go on down the road please. 3. Very late arrivals. You can check in after the allotted check-in time period but don’t expect the same great customer service we are known for. We are regular peeps and need to be off-duty and sleep once every week or so whether we need it or not! If it is an urgent matter call GUEST ASSISTANCE at 833-862-8789, don’t text or message please. 4. Last second bookings. If you wait until the last second to request a booking we may not see your message until its too late! Please avoid that by booking in advance. 5. Third Party Bookings. It is best that you make sure ahead of time that others LIKE the idea of staying at one of my places. Why? Your Aunt Bessie may want a Hilton, instead of a cowboy bunkhouse experience! My places are different and “whimsical” and not everyone’s “cup of tea”. No refunds if a third party guest leaves because they expected something more like a traditional hotel/motel. 6. Party Central Get-together Rule. You are welcome to invite friends and family over to visit at A-Frame Glampers or Tiny Houses for a short period of time (no more than 2 hours) but they must observe ALL rules. If other guests complain OR you allow unregistered guests to stay longer than two hours OR if they violate the rules your credit card on file will be charged at a minimum rate of $20 per guest. Not “party central”. Family Friendly! 7. Don’t gripe and snipe AFTER you leave. Call GUEST ASSISTANCE at 833-862-8789 DURING your stay, not afterward when we can’t help. Sometimes there will be a maintenance or other issue at ALL hotels, motels, restaurants and B & B’s. Hosts deserve an opportunity to cure the problems at the time you notice them. Please call, don’t message. This provides much faster service! Happy you, happy me! Thanks again and best wishes! Jay
