Hop on the little ferry at Buitenkaag to the island of Kaag and stroll past the village centre and the harbour. Grab lunch or dinner by the water at Restaurant Tante Kee. In July, watch the Kaagweek sailing races from the quay. Rent a sloop at Olympia Charters in Warmond and cruise via ’t Joppe onto the Kagerplassen. Glide past the reed beds around De Kaag and moor at recreation area Koudenhoorn for a short walk or picnic. The Neighborhood

You’ll be staying in Oud Ade, a village in South Holland within the municipality of Kaag en Braassem. It’s a water-rich region with lakes, canals and polders. From here, you can take to the water at the Kagerplassen or the Braassemermeer, ideal for sailing, stand-up paddleboarding or a trip in a sloop. Prefer to stay on dry land? Then walk or cycle along quiet dykes and polder roads towards Warmond and Kaageiland. Katwijk beach is a 20-minute drive away. Places worth visiting include Leiden with its historic centre, around 8 km away. Warmond is approximately 4 km away, Kaageiland 6 km and Roelofarendsveen about 7 km.

Park in the rear of the park in spaces numbered 9 to 40, next to the cottage number. There are also visitor parking spaces at the rear of the park, near the woods. The spaces next to the homes are for loading and unloading only. Store your bikes by the Tiny House. Pets are not allowed.
