Riverside Retreat - Waterfront - Hindmarsh Island

Description

Make your next getaway unforgettable at this stunning and much-loved family riverfront home on beautiful Hindmarsh Island. Built in the 1960s, this house has been in the same family for 40 years. It’s a place filled with memories and now ready for you to make some of your own. Facing north, the home is filled with natural light and opens out to expansive lawns that roll right down to the Murray River. You’ll love the private jetty, the perfect spot for fishing, kayaking, or tying up your boat after a day on the water. The setting is peaceful and private, surrounded by friendly permanent residents in one of the most unique and tranquil parts of Hindmarsh Island. Step inside to a bright, open-plan living, dining and kitchen area featuring a wood fireplace and large wall-mounted TV – ideal for cosy nights in after long days on the water. Floor-to-ceiling windows draw in natural light and give you a front-row seat to the sparkling river views. Fully renovated in 2020, the house retains its mid-century design but has all the modern comforts you could want, ducted heating and cooling throughout, four spacious bedrooms, and two bathrooms. There’s room for up to 10 guests, making it perfect for a relaxing getaway with family or friends. Cooking is a breeze in the modern, fully equipped kitchen with electric cooktop and oven, microwave and full fridge/freezer. Or take things outdoors and make the most of the riverside lifestyle: fire up the BBQ, create pizzas in the outdoor oven, or relax on the expansive timber deck with stylish outdoor furniture. With four comfortable bedrooms, there’s plenty of room for family and friends: • Bedroom 1 – Queen bed, ceiling fan, stunning water views to the north, plus a private ensuite with a full glass window looking out to the landscape • Bedroom 2 – Queen bed, ceiling fan and a desk – perfect for a quiet workspace • Bedroom 3 – Queen bed, built-in robes, ceiling fan and access to the river • Bedroom 4 – Sleeps 4 with 2 x single bunk beds – a fun space for kids or extra guests The gorgeous main bathroom features a large vanity and walk-in shower, offering both style and comfort. And for even more fun? Shoot some hoops on the basketball area, then unwind as the sun sets over the river – pure holiday bliss. Garage is not available for guest use. It’s just 10 minutes from historic Goolwa, where you’ll find great coffee, wine bars, restaurants, markets, and coastal charm. A little note: because the home sits right on the riverfront with no fencing, between the neighbours' properties or the water. And while there’s plenty of space to relax, this is not a party house; it’s a place to unwind, reconnect, and build lasting memories with the people you love. Stay a while, soak up the expansive river views, watch the pelicans drift by, and enjoy a truly special slice of the Murray.
