Community Amenities – Powder Horn Mountain Powder Horn Mountain is a private gated community offering a wide range of amenities for guests in a beautiful rural setting. Guests have free access to the seasonal community pool, typically open from late May through early September. Additional amenities include a fitness center and game room—both located in the clubhouse—a playground, paddle boats, a tennis/ pickle ball court, basketball goal, disc golf course, and miles of well-marked hiking trails. Fishing is available in three community ponds as well as in Laurel Creek and Elk Creek. Fishing in either creek requires a valid North Carolina fishing license. The community also features a campground along Laurel Creek that is ideal for an evening fire, s’mores, or a game of horseshoes. With full-time maintenance staff, roads and access are well maintained year-round, including during winter months.
