This historic district of Paris is a very lively and animated neighborhood, openly gay-friendly, safe and hosts events all year round. Located in the 4th arrondissement, the trendy Marais district, also known as SoMa (South Marais), is full of trendy boutiques, galleries and bars. The district is famous for its many monuments, such as the Hôtel de Ville de Paris, the Eglise Saint-Paul, the Place des Vosges, the Louvre Museum, the Notre-Dame-de-Paris Cathedral, its museums, its restaurants, its bars and its stores.
