Garratt Peninsula - Onetangi Beach Views
About the Home
Overlooking the full curve of Onetangi Beach, Garratt Peninsula is a spacious coastal home set above the shoreline with uninterrupted sea views from the living areas, deck, and spa pool. Designed for relaxed island living, it offers generous indoor and outdoor spaces well suited to families or groups wanting time together by the water. Set high above Onetangi Beach, Garratt Peninsula opens directly to wide views across the bay. The layout draws you through the house toward the deck, where outdoor dining, loungers, and a spa pool sit overlooking the water. The position captures the movement of the beach throughout the day, from early swimmers in the morning to soft evening light over the bay. Inside, the main living area is open and light-filled, combining the kitchen, dining, and lounge into a single connected space. Full-height glass doors open to the deck, creating an easy flow between indoors and out that works well for shared meals, long afternoons, and unhurried evenings after the beach. The upper level includes three bedrooms and a family bathroom. These rooms are quiet and comfortable, with outlooks toward the sea or surrounding bush. Downstairs, a fourth bedroom and bathroom are located beneath the main house and accessed externally. This space is fully self-contained and works well for grandparents, older teens, or friends travelling together who value privacy and independence from the main living areas. Due to the stepped layout throughout the property, the home is not suitable for toddlers or guests with limited mobility. Bedroom 1: queen bed Bedroom 2: queen bed Bedroom 3: queen bed Bedroom 4: double bed Sleeps up to 8 guests Bookings accepted on request. Garratt Peninsula is positioned above Onetangi Beach, one of Waiheke’s longest and most popular swimming beaches. The walk down to the sand takes around ten minutes and leads directly to the centre of the beach. Along the beachfront, Charlie Farley’s and Ki Māha offer casual and fine dining options within easy reach of the water. Both are well established and popular with visitors and locals throughout the year. A short drive inland brings you to The Heke Kitchen, Brewery and Distillery, a relaxed dining venue known for wood-fired food and craft beer. Several vineyards are also nearby, including Tantalus Estate, Stonyridge, Casita Miro, and Wild on Waiheke, making this a convenient base for winery visits. Oneroa Village is around ten minutes away by car and offers supermarkets, boutiques, cafés, galleries, and the passenger ferry terminal. Like most Waiheke homes, Garratt Peninsula runs on rainwater, so we ask guests to use it thoughtfully during their stay. The spa pool is cleaned and ready for your arrival, and the home is equipped with everything you’ll need for a comfortable visit. With steps connecting the different levels, the property isn’t suited to toddlers or guests with limited mobility. Minimum stay requirements apply, seven nights from mid-December to mid-January, three nights on holiday weekends, and two nights at all other times.
